
Author and psychologist Henry Cloud in his book, 9 things you simply must do, takes time to look at the attitudes or actions that successful people have in common. Of course, we need to be careful with how we define success, but I believe these things apply to us achieving whatever God as set before us.

- Dig it up – Do not ignore the little signals that something is not right inside
- Pull the tooth – Do something about the problem
- Play the movie – Picture your future
- Do something – Be pro-active, get on and be productive
- Act like an ant – Be willing to build one small step at a time
- Hate well – Choose what you will hate objectively
- Don’t play fair – Grace; don’t return like for like or try to settle the score
- Be humble – Stay grounded
- Upset the right people – Don’t count your critics, weigh them
